Rwenzori Mountain People and Nature Farmers Co-operative Society Limited

This is a cooperative for tree farmers who live on and around Mount Rwenzori. It was founded in 2019 by groups of people who were engaged in planting trees in the U-shaped Kanyampara river valley (Kamughobe, Kilhambayiro, Bughema, Kabingo, Muyina, etc.) The principal activity of Rwenzori Mountain People and Nature Farmers Co-operative Society Limited is to allow members to buy shares, mobilise members’ savings, provide credit facilities to its members, as well as provide a collective market for members’ agricultural products and services. It also allows the savings and credit groups to apply for and receive funding as loans.
